General Overall Chiro Health Information

Step through the degrading stages
of Subluxation Degeneration.

What is a subluxation? A subluxation is a slight misalignment of the vertebrae, regarded in chiropractic theory as the cause of many health problems

Subluxation Degeneration

Textbook Normal
Normal curves with equal disc spacing. No visible signs of degeneration.Regular chiropractic checkups are recommended for early detection and prevention of spinal decay.

Phase One

Misalignment and malfunction with soft tissue damage and nerve irritation. PROGNOSIS Return to near normal may be expected with appropriate chiropractic care. The stylus which is interfaced with the patient then applies a portion of the wave to the atlas (1st cervical vertebra) in order to make the appropriate adjustment. The instrument allows the doctor to adjust the atlas misalignment with a very high degree of precision while applying minimal physical pressure. This unique feature eliminates most patient discomfort during treatment.

Phase Two
Disc narrowing, calcium deposition, bone spurs, and nerve irritation. PROGNOSIS Slowing or stopping may be expected with appropriate chiropractic care.

Phase Three
Joint immobilization, bone fusion, nerve atrophy, and scar tissue. PROGNOSIS Slowing or stopping may be expected with appropriate chiropractic care.

A mild description of how back pain can occur,
and how surgery could possibly be avoided.

Many of the pain-sensing nerves of the spine are in the facet joints, the two interlocking "fingers” at the back of each spinal bone. The normally smooth surface on which these joints glide, can become rough, irritated, and in inflamed. Surgical treatment often involves removing these facet joints, exposing the spinal cord!

Another cause of lower back pain can be a bulging disc putting pressure on the spinal cord or a nearby nerve root. The result is often numbness, tingling, or pain down the leg. Cutting away the bulging disc tissue, can permanently alter its ability to separate and cushion the adjacent bones. This rarely addresses the underlying structural cause(s) of the problem.

The chiropractic approach is to help restore a more normal motion and position of affected spinal bones by specific chiropractic adjustments. The simplicity and success of this approach has been documented in numerous research projects and has helped many patients avoid risky surgery.
